The first-place Medford Rogues came to town on Friday and have won two of three games so far in this four-game series.
On Friday, the Rogues beat the Potters by a final score of 13-6. Nolan Boggini got the start on the mound pitching six innings while allowing eight runs on 11 hits, walking three and striking out three.
Braden De Benedictis went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored, Jake Boyd went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, Zach Hall went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and both Mason Allen and Will Law also got an RBI each.
On Saturday, the Potters and Rogues had a doubleheader to make up for a game in June. In the first game of the day, only seven innings of work, the Potters beat the Rogues with a score of 3-0. Isaiah Garcia hit his fourth home run of the season going 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored on the game. Will Law also contributed to the runs scored and went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. On the mound was Brett Swartz and Zach Hoffman combined for a complete-game two-hit shutout.
But on Saturday night, the Rogues took game three winning 5-0 with the help of Rogues’ pitcher Scotty Wright pitching a perfect game. He had a total of 14 strikeouts in his seven innings of work.
The Potters look to tie the series against the Rogues tonight at McBean Stadium at 6:05 pm in the fourth, and final, game of the series. The Potters (33-20) are five games back from first place in the Great West League and remain in second place with the Chico Heat only one game back in third place.
