Potters Game Turns Into Pitchers Duel

Potters Pitchers Duel

The Lincoln Potters had a nail biter of a game in their 5-4 win over the Solano Mudcats. Both teams started off with an exciting first inning each scoring 3 runs on 4 hits. The Potters came out strong with a leadoff triple by Cade Parker, followed by an RBI single by Payton Brennan to score the first run for the Potters. An RBI groundout by Hudson Brown, single by Jacob Doyle and RBI single by JR Freethy scored the other 2 runs of the inning.

The rest of the game became a pitching duel. The Potters (21-3, 6-1) threw 5 pitchers tonight: Adan Perez pitched the first 5 with Logan Bell, Regan Carter, Parker Warner, and Nolan Thebiay all pitching 1 inning. They combined to allow 1 run on 6 hits over the final eight innings.

The game was tied 3-3 until the 4th inning when a wild pitch scored one to give the Potters the lead. And then in the 5th, an RBI single by JR Freethy gave the Potters the insurance run they would need. The Mudcats (7-5, 4-3) closed the already small gap in the 7th with an RBI double leaving the score at 5-4.

Raising Cane’s player of the game, Payton Brennan had a solid night at the plate going 3-4 with 1 RBI in his Potters return. JR Freethy also hit big going 3-4 with 2 RBI.

The Potters travel to Solano tomorrow to face off against the Mudcats again. They return to McBean on Thirsty Thursday for their game against the AE Express. Potter Up!
