Tandy's Blast Gives Potters the Sweep

Jake Tandy’s pinch hit, two-out, walk off 3-run home run concluded an incredible 9th inning rally that gave the Lincoln Potters a 4-3 win and a series sweep over the Humboldt Crabs.

The Crabs added a couple of insurance runs in the top of the ninth for a 3-0 lead. Lincoln took advantage of two walks and a hit batter to load the bases. Cole Dillon hit a sacrifice fly to score JT Waldon. Then in stepped Tandy who sent the Crabs packing with his game winning shot over the left field wall.

The Potters (18-2, 3-0) struggled to get runs on the board, getting shut out through the first 8 innings of the game with only 4 hits until the 9th.

The Humboldt Crabs (10-5, 0-3)  scored their first run of the game off of a hit batter. The Crabs waited until the 9th to score again, scoring 2 runs on an RBI double and a fielder's choice.

Lincoln’s pitching staff had a solid game. Starting pitcher, Anthony Martinez, threw for 5 innings only giving up 1 run and 1 hit. Relievers Gerald Hanson, Evan Odin, Russell Pettis and Micah Marquez combined for the last 4 innings, each pitching one, allowing a combined 2 runs on 4 hits.

The action does not stop as the Potters are back at McBean Stadium tomorrow to begin their 3-game series against PEL rival, the Medford Rogues. First pitch is at 6:35 pm. Potter Up!
