Potters Back on Track in Rout of Honors

Potters Back on Track in Rout of Honors

On the last night before league play begins, the Lincoln Potters were looking to start a new win streak after having their previous one of 12 games snapped on Friday. The pitching and offense were back to their dominant ways as Lincoln would quickly put away the Bercovich Honors, eventually finishing up a 13-3 victory.

Earning the victory for the third time this season was starter Jackson Halverson, who threw five solid innings to keep the Honors offense at bay early on. The future Sacramento State Hornet struck out five batters while only allowing one base on balls. Micah Marquez would throw two perfect innings in relief before turning the ball over to Russell Pettis and Eric Vasser for the final two frames.

On the offensive side, this one was highlighted by Georgia Southern’s Sean White, going 3-3 with two doubles and a triple, driving in three runs. White credited an overall cleaner game of baseball as the difference in tonight’s winning effort as opposed to Friday night. Will Linberg and Tripp Garrish would have two-hit nights, doing their part to contribute to the winning efforts.

A new chapter begins in the 2024 Potters season on Tuesday night, as the inaugural Pacific Empire League matchup will take place at McBean Stadium against the Humboldt Crabs. Currently, there are only two teams that have begun league play against one another, those being the Solano Mudcats (2-0), and the West Coast Kings (0-2). First pitch Tuesday night will be at 6:35pm on Two-Fer Tuesday.
