12-Game Win Streak Snapped on Orange Friday

After a day off, the Lincoln Potters would match up against the Bercovich Honors on a cool Thursday Night at McBean Stadium. Tonight was just one of those nights, as an early burst of offense and stellar pitching from the opposing dugout was enough to put away the red-hot Potters by a final of 5-0.

The Honors would strike early in the first two innings, plating one and three runs in the first two innings respectively. Only one run would come across for both teams the rest of the game, as the Potters bullpen would successfully limit the damage for the next seven innings. A total of eight Potters arms would take the mound on Thursday, six of which recording a scoreless inning on the hill.

Offensively, the usually lethal Potters offense hit a snag, being limited to just three hits in this nine-inning contest. Honors starting pitcher Jake Fields would have a night to remember, throwing seven shutout innings while striking out three batters. Max Cohen would follow in relief and finish out the game with two no-hit innings.

The Potters will look to start a new win streak on Saturday night against the same Bercovich Honors, with first pitch set to be thrown at 6:35pm. Other festivities at the ballpark include Disney Night and Cider Saturday, ensuring plenty of fun for the whole family.
