5 Potters Combine for a Historic 1-Hitter

5 Potters Combine for Historic 1-Hitter

The Lincoln Potters continued their win streak on Tuesday night, taking down the West Coast Kings Black by a score of 9-1. In a historic performance for the Potters pitching staff, they combined for the first 1-hitter in Potters history. Those five arms were Adan Perez, Tyler Moore (WP), Logan Bell, Jake Morell, and Preston Brook. The lone hit was allowed with one out in the top of the ninth, and the lone run was an unearned one in the top of the second.

On the other side of the ball, the two biggest highlights came from Jacob Doyle. The first came in the top half of the sixth inning, as Doyle made the catch of the season with a leaping grap in right field to save extra bases. He then stepped up to the plate in his next at-bat and skied a home run just over the left field fence to extend the Potters' lead to a 6-1 score. Other impressive performances at the plate came from Air Force's Tripp Garrish, who went 3-for-3 in his Potters debut, and JT Waldon, who had a 3-for-5 night with 2 RBI. Jake Tandy also continued his dominant start to the season, improving his batting average to .615.

The Potters will be back in action on Thursday night, when the Menlo Park Legacy return to McBean for the third time. Come out for Sierra College Night, Thirsty Thursday, and some great baseball at the Bean! First pitch is slated for 6:35pm.
