Potters Score Big in 14-8 Victory Over Menlo

The Potters sent 10 to the plate in the 6th inning when they scored 6 runs to break open the game en route to a 14-8 win. The Potters only had 2 hits, but were walked 4 times, had 1 hit batter and 1 Menlo error propelling the big inning. Menlo gave up 9 walks, hit 3 batters and committed 6 errors in tonight's game utilizing 8 different pitchers. Hasani Johnson and Cole Eaton, both making their Potters debut, each reached base 5 out of 6 times. Johnson scored 3 runs while Eaton had 4 hits, 2 runs and made 5 putouts in center including a diving play.

Other highlights include Hudson Brown with 3 hits and 3 RBI, Jake Tandy had 2 hits including a 370 ft, 2-out, 2-run home run and finished with 3 RBI. Andrew Sloan had 2 RBI, one of them coming off a double. Brett Griffiths also had 2 hits and robbed a single up the middle to prevent a run being scored. The Potters turned a double play ending a threat in the 5th inning. Another defensive highlight was Johnson’s snag of a line drive with bases loaded to end the 7th inning. Menlo used four hits to score three in the third to tie it 3-3. The Legacy would score one more in the fifth and two in the sixth before the Potters took control.

The Lincoln Potters will host the Alameda Anchors on Thursday, May 30th at 6:35pm. Gates open at 5:30 for Thirsty Thursday.
