Potters Drop Series Finale to Novato

The Novato Knicks got on the board first and never looked back, as they took the final game of the series against the Potters 13-2 on Slice Sunday. Novato would jump on the Potters early, scoring 10 runs in the first four innings, and riding starter Nico Tejada’s arm for six innings of one-run baseball.

The Knicks offense got right to work in the top of the first thanks to a three-run home run by Vinny Lencioni, and then plated three more in the third followed by four more in the fourth. The Potters’ pitching staff would show some bright spots however, as the combination of Bobby Romitti and Ken Blankenship shut the Knicks out for 3.1 innings after that.

Logging the lone RBI of the game for the Potters offense was first baseman Jake Tandy, who was 2-4 with an RBI double in the 7th inning. Quincy Malbrough, Andrew Sloan, and Brett Griffiths would also record hits of their own. Griffiths would score the lone other run of the game on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fourth.

The Potters finish the weekend with a 2-1 record and will look to right the ship on Tuesday night against the Menlo Legacy. First pitch is slated for 6:35pm here at McBean Stadium.
