Potters Pitching Leads Team to WinPotters won the final matchup of the season against the Yuba Sutter Gold Sox on Tuesday by a score of 7-2. The Potters continued their ability to score early in the game with 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Daniel Susac, Trey Furrey, and Nathan Martorella each had RBI singles in that inning. Keshawn Ogans drove in the final run of the inning with an RBI groundout. Potters offense wouldn't need to get another run across the board on the night as starter Jack Horn delivered one of the best starts the Potters have seen this year. He would allow only 2 base runners in his 5 innings of work while striking out 8 Gold Sox hitters. He left the game with a 6-0 lead and the Potters bullpen was ready to hold onto that lead. The Voelker brothers and Jack Filby combined for 5 strikeouts in 3 innings of work out of the bullpen. The Potters would get another run from an Ogans sacrifice fly, his 2nd RBI on the night, to make it 7-0 during that time frame. After some unusual struggles with command from Cody Jensen in the 9th, manager Ryan Stevens turned to Ian Miller to get the final out in a 7-2 win. The Potters improve to 17-4 on the season. Jack Horn got the win for Lincoln. Potters offense was contained after the 1st inning, but Jorge Bojorquez continues his good summer at the plate racking up 2 more hits on the night. Trey Furrey and Nathan Martorella also picked up 2 hits on the night. Keshawn Ogans led the team in RBI with 2 on the night. The Potters offense has shown to be a tough engine to stop at times but even when they weren't fully clicking, they still managed to score 7 runs and provide enough offense for their pitching staff. A pitching staff that surrendered only 7 base runners while stricking out 14 Gold Sox hitters. The pitching staff has been excellent in recent games allowing less than 3 runs in 4 of their last 5 outings.
