Potters Walk-Off Kings for First Home WinThe Potters earn the first home win of the season on a walk-off single from Michael Shoenberger. The Kings scored 2 runs in the first 3 innings to give them an early 2-0 lead. The hero of the game started his big night, with an RBI double in the bottom of the 3rd inning. He was singled home by Nathan Martorella to tie the game at 2. Kings would get 2 more runs before going into the bottom of the 5th inning. The Potters unloaded for 7 runs in the bottom of the 5th innings to give them a 9-4 lead. The Kings chipped away at the lead in the 8th inning and eventually tied the game after a few costly defensive mishaps from the Potters. In the top of the 9th inning, Ethan Mann had a diving play to rob an extra base hit and helped keep the game tied. The Potters got 2 walks and reached on an error to load the bases up for Michael Shoenberger who hit a line drive up the middle of Ryan Pierce to win the game. The Potters celebrate the dramatic walk off win and improve to 3-2 on the season. Keshawn Ogans reached base 6 times at the top of the Potters lineup to provide a stead hand offensively. Michael Shoenberger was the player of the game though with a 4-6 line with 4 RBI on the night and the walk-off single. Potters had some strong pitching performances from Ian Miller and Marlin Brucato. The duo combined to go 5 and 2/3 innings giving up only 2 earned runs on 7 hits, 3 walks and striking out 5. Tanner Kane was able to limit the damage in the 8th inning by striking out the final hitter of the inning with 2 runners in scoring position. Ryan Pierce gets credited with the loss and Bradlye Wilcott takes the win for the Potters. Potters are right back at it again on Saturday for some 4th of July baseball, against the Kings.
