The Lincoln Potters returned to McBean stadium Thursday night and brought their bats with them, as the offense exploded for 13 runs and they defeated the visiting Solano Mudcats 13-4.
The Potter batters collected a total of 15 hits on the night, with eight different players driving in at least one run.
Starting pitcher Jakob Frederick settled down nicely after allowing three early runs, giving the Potters six solid innings of work, striking out three and only allowing six hits to earn his fourth victory of the season.
After falling behind by a run in the top of the second, centerfielder Lorenzo Debrecht (4-4, 1 HR, 3 1B, 2 RBI) quickly evened the score as he lifted a ball over the left field fence for his third home run of the season.
With the Mudcats getting two runs back in the top of third, the Potters offense came alive as they scored 12 unanswered runs to put the game out of reach.
Debrecht led off the bottom of the fourth with a single and was later brought in thanks to a Parker Kelly (2 R, 2 RBI, 2 BB) RBI single. Kelly later scored to tie the game via a Nolan Young (2 R, 2 BB, 1 RBI) RBI single, and a balk from the Mudcats pitcher brought in another run and gave the Potters a 4-3 lead.
Lincoln scored four more in the bottom of the fifth, with Tanner OTremba (1 HR, 2 RBI) putting an exclamation point on the night in the sixth inning, as he crushed a no-doubter over the left field fence for his second home run of the season.
Zach Bushling (3-3, 1 2B, 1 RBI) contributed to the offense in a big way, collecting a hit in all three of his at-bats, with Isaiah Garcia (2 1B, 1 RBI) having a multi-hit game as well.
Isaiah Rodriquez was all the Potters needed out of the bullpen, as he gave up only one run in his 3.0 innings of relief.
With the win, Lincoln improves to 9-8 in the CCL and 17-12-1 overall.
