Potters Drop Game Two

The San Francisco Seals tallied 12 hits and beat the Potters 9-5 on Friday night at McBean Stadium, evening the series at one game apiece. The starting pitcher Isaiah Rodriguez took the loss, tossing three innings giving up five runs, and striking out four batters for the Potters. San Francisco Seals starting pitcher, Sonny Brandward gets the win, going 5.0 innings, giving up two runs (1 ER) and striking out five Potter hitters. Defensive miscues hurt the Potters in the fourth inning costing four runs on two errors. Radd Thomas came in the fourth inning and was dominant for 4.0 innings, striking out four batters, allowing two unearned runs. The Potters hitters were putting the ball in play, tallying nine hits of their own but were unable to take advantage stranding 13 runners on base. Larry Fonseca (2-for-4, a single and a RBI) and Mattie Thomas (2-for-5, 2 singles) led the charge with two hits a piece. Jake Plescas got on base three times, including an RBI single and a pair of walks. The Potters’ record is now 9-4 overall and 5-3. in league play. The Potters look to take back the series lead against the Seals on Stars Wars Night, Saturday evening, presented by Sierra Pacific.
