Potters Score 5 in Home Opener Win

The Potters won on Thursday, for their home opener 5-1. The Wolves score only a single run in the 5th inning on a Collin Dean double in the gap. Jake Friederick would end up striking out the last batter of the inning to end their scoring chances. Luke Hargis and Tyler Mead would combine for the final 4 innings of work which lead to a Friederick win, and a Mead save. The Potters improve to 1-0 on the season. Veteran Potter pitcher Jake Friederick threw 5 innings of work in his season debut, giving up 4 hits, 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Lorenzo Debrecht continues to showcase his talent at the plate. Debrecht went 3-4 at the dish, hitting his 2nd HR of the summer (first of the regular season) and scored twice. Matt Lopez also scored twice tonight along with belting 1 triple and 1 RBI. The Potters will square off with the Indians from Fairfield tomorrow night at 6:35 pm for “Cool Rag” giveaway night. The Potters look to improve their record to 2-0 on the season as the Indians roll into town. Saturday the Wolves come back to town for Military Appreciation Night.
