The Lincoln Potters captured their second West Coast World Series title with their 15-9 win over the California Tigers tonight.

 

Lincoln, which last won the Series in 2022, named Jax Gimenez of the University of Oregon tournament MVP. He went 7-for-16 with 3 doubles, a home run and 8 RBI. Other notable players of the tournament were Quincy Malbrough going 8-for-15 with 8 RBI, Trey Furrey going 7-for-16 with 2 doubles, a home run and 8 RBI and Jason Hanson going 5-for-14 with a home run and 7 RBI. 

 

In tonight’s game, the Potters had 12 hits including a 2-run home run by Zach Chamizo in the first inning to put the Potters on the board. Chamizo had a total of 3 hits. Furrey also had 3 hits with 4 RBI which includes his 2 RBI double in the 4th. Gimenez had 2 hits with 2 RBI. 

 

The Potters had 3 pitchers take the mound. Starting pitcher Adan Perez threw 6 innings with 6 strikeouts and only giving up 6 hits and 4 earned runs. Cam Staton and Nolan Thebiay combined for the last 3 innings with 3 strikeouts and 4 hits. 

 

Tonight marks the end of the Potters season. They had a final record of 40-18 for the season. Thank you Lincoln for an amazing summer. Can’t wait to see everyone back at McBean next season! Potter Up!
