Potter Dominate West Coast Word Series Opener

Potters Dominate

The Lincoln Potters used a 12-run third inning to mercy the ShowCali Astros 17-2 in the Potters’ opening game of the West Coast World Series. The Potters blew open a 3-0 lead in their half of the third with two bases-loaded walks, an RBI double by Jax Gimenez, RBI singles by Quincy Malbrough and Jason Hanson, a 2 RBI single by Gimenez, an RBI double by Trey Furrey, and finally a 3-run home run by Cole Chamberlain. 

 

The Lincoln Potters had 14 hits tonight. Hanson, Gimenez, Furrey, Chamberlain, and Malbrough all had multiple hits. Furrey started the game with a solo home run in the 2nd to put the Potters on the board. Cole Dillon would hit a 2-run home run in the inning as well. 

 

Starting pitcher Tyler Moore and reliever Tanner Bradley combined their efforts in the 5 inning game only giving up six hits and 2 runs with 7 strikeouts. 

 

The West Coast World Series continues tomorrow with 3 games. AE Express takes on SoCal Halos at 10:30am. Social Halos take on CA Tigers at 2:30pm and the Potters take on the Peloteros at 6:30pm. Bracket play starts on Monday. Potter Up!
