Potters Clinch Playoff Spot

Playoff Bound

With the 9-2 victory over the Solano Mudcats the Potters clinched their spot in the Pacific Empire League playoffs. After giving up 2 runs in the first, the Potters then threw 8 shutout innings. WInning pitcher, Anthony Martinez, pitched 6 innings, throwing 90 pitches with 5 strikeouts and only giving up 3 hits. Relievers Cam Staton, Logan Bell and Gabe Maya each pitched 1 inning, throwing a combined 4 strikeouts and only giving up 2 hits. 

 

The Lincoln Potters (35-15, 15-11) had 5 players with hits tonight, Cole Eaton had 2 while Luke Mansy, Trey Furrey, Eli Small, and Zach Chamizo all had one. Eaton, Johnson, and Mansy all had an RBI tonight while Chamizo had 2. 

 

The Potters took advantage of the opportunities they were given, scoring 3 runs off of wild pitches and Zach Chamizo earned one of his RBI of the night with a pitch to the back which walked in a run. 

 

The Potters also played well in the field. Shortstop Johnson had multiple putouts tonight one of them being a diving stop and throw to first in the 4th inning. 

 

The Potters travel to Solano tomorrow to play their last regular season game. First pitch is at 1:00pm. They then have a home playoff game on Tuesday July 30th. This is the first time the Potters have hosted a playoff game since 2019. Gates open at 5:30pm and first pitch is at 6:35. Potter Up!
