Solid Pitching and Defense Drive Potters to 4-1 Win

Solid Potter Pitching and Defense

A solid pitching performance from a handful of Potters plus opportune defense gave the Potters the 4-1 victory over non-league opponents, AE Express.

Starting pitcher, Tyler Moore, pitched 3 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts. Andrew Balentine then came in and pitched another 3 innings, only giving up 1 hit and 1 run and striking out 4 batters. Jason Riviello and  Logan Bell both pitched one inning each, giving up a combined 2 hits and 0 runs. Nolan Thebiay closed out the game by striking out the side.

Clutch defense from the Lincoln Potters, (29-13, 9-10) got them out of multiple jams tonight. A double play in the second inning ended an Express rally with bases loaded and one out. Another big out for the Potters was a 6-4 putout in a bases-loaded 7th inning.

The Potters had a total of 7 hits against the Express’s sole pitcher Luke Dillon. Jacob Doyle went 2-4 with a home run in the 5th, Quincy Malbrough went 2-4 with 2 RBI, and Eli Small was 1-2 with an RBI. Cole Dillon and Luke Mansy both had a hit tonight as well.

The Potters have a day off before they are back at McBean Stadium to take on PEL rival, West Coast Kings Grey on July 18th. It will also be Thirsty Thursday with $5 16 oz pours of Founders Brew. First pitch is at 6:35pm and gates open at 5:35pm. Potter Up!
