Eric Vasser (Sac City) got his first start of the season. Vasser got off to a fantastic start, throwing two scoreless innings. As we entered the third inning, things began to get shaky for Vasser. A two-run single to right field got the scoring started for the Yankees. Another day, another Jeric Curtis (Texas Tech) web gem. Curtis made a diving catch in left center field to save another run, which ended the inning. 

The bullpen continues to play a major role for first year manager Jon Peters. Logan Bell (Bowling Green State) made his second appearance of the season. He was able to work around a two out double to end with a scoreless first inning. He was tagged for two runs in his second inning but was able to escape with a strikeout to limit the damage. 

Logan Bell (Bowling Green State) was followed by Devin Marton (University of Nevada Reno) out of the bullpen. Marton was immediately met with action. A single and hit by pitch set up first and third for the Yankees. He was able to force weak contact, as Drake Richards grounded out to shortstop JT Maloney (Sac City) to end the inning, escaping with no runs given up. 

The Potters struggled to get anything going at the plate to begin the game. They were only able to muster four hits against the Yankees. A leadoff walk as well as a steal of second base from Jeric Curtis (Texas Tech), set the Potters up with a runner in scoring position. Cade Sanchez (Texas A&M- Corpus Christi) continues to be an RBI machine, as he drove in Curtis for his sixth RBI on the season. 

Kai Burdick (University of San Francisco) picked up right where Devin Marton (University of Nevada Reno) left off. Burdick was able to work around an error from JT Maloney (Sac City), thanks in part to an athletic play from catcher Landon Weiss (William Jessup) rebounding from a wild pitch to nab the runner at home. Burdick went back out for the eighth inning, and continued to shove, putting up another scoreless inning. 

The bottom of the seventh inning provided some hope for Potter fans. Two walks and a hit by pitch set up bases loaded with no outs, and the first Potter rally of the night. Aiden Isola (Sac City) started the scoring in the inning with an RBI walk. A hard ground ball hit by Cade Sanchez (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) resulted in a run-scoring fielder's choice. On the same play, a throwing error was made by Dylan Stallions which resulted in another Potter run, making the score 6-4. 

Grant Kelly (College of Southern Nevada) entered the game in the top of the ninth inning. Kelly found himself in an early jam. A passed ball from Landon Weiss (William Jessup) seemed to only make things harder for Kelly, until Weiss gunned down the runner attempting to advance to third. Kelly finished the inning allowing one run. 

The Potters bats came to life in the bottom half of the ninth inning. Cade Sanchez (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) got the inning started with a walk. Dom Agrella (Sac City) was hit by a pitch which set up runners at first and second. Levi Sotomayor (Sac City) came through big with an RBI single to make it a one run game. The late inning rally fell just short as the Potters were put away on a fielder's choice, which resulted in a 7-6 final score. The Potters move to 1-3 on the season.

The Potters have an off day tomorrow,Wednesday, May 31st. They take the field again on Thursday for the final game of a two-game set with the Sacramento Yankees.
