Potters Hot at the Plate in Their Sweep Over the Kings

Potters Hot at the Plate

Twelve runs, seventeen hits, a grand slam and six shutout innings carried the Potters to their 12-5 victory over Pacific Empire League rivals, the West Coast Kings. The grand slam was hit by Trey Furrey in the second inning to cap off the end of a two out rally the Potters had going.

The Lincoln Potters (32-13, 12-10) faced 10 different pitchers from the Kings tonight but still managed 17 hits, 6 of them being for extra bases. Trey Furrey, Jacob Doyle, Luke Mansy, Jax Gimenez, and Cole Eaton all had a multiple hit game. Trey Furrey was a triple away from hitting the cycle. Doyle, Gimenez, Will Linberg, Jake Harvey, Eaton, and Jason Hanson all had an RBI apiece. 2 of the Potters' runs were scored off of throwing errors by the Kings.

The Potters pitched a total of 6 pitchers tonight including winning pitcher Anthony Martinez, and relievers Gerald Hanson, Tyler Moore, Ryan Baker, Parker Warner, and Tanner Bradley. The Potters relievers pitched a scoreless last 5 innings and only gave up 4 hits.

The Potters are back at McBean tomorrow night, July 21st, to take non-league opponents, the California Tigers. Tomorrow is also country night so make sure to wear your boots! Gates open at 5pm and first pitch is at 6:05pm. Potter up!
