JONATHAN PETERS PROMOTED TO MANAGER

Lincoln, CA - The Lincoln Potters have promoted long-time assistant coach Jonathan Peters to field manager for the 2023 season. Peters has served under Ryan Stevens as the head assistant and third-base coach since 2018.

“The Potters are a ground up organization and there is no more grass roots member of our team than JP. He knows where we came from and where we expect to be at the end of 2023 and we look forward to his leadership on the field” Owner Clifton Talyor on Peters' promotion.

Peters spent several years as an assistant coach at Folsom Lake College and now runs one of the most successful youth baseball organizations and hitting facilities in the region.

“He is more than qualified to take the Potters to the next level and bring a CCL Championship to its rightful home” former Manager Ryan Stevens said.

Originally from Chino, CA Peters was a standout baseball player at Chino High School, earning All-League, All-County, and All-CIF honors. He continued his playing career at Mt. San Antonio Community College for two years and earned a scholarship to NCAA Division II powerhouse Chico State. He helped lead the Wildcats to an appearance in the NCAA DII World Series in 2012.

“We are excited about where this program is going. Ryan left a solid foundation for JP to build on and we think the sky is the limit for him and the Potters as he takes the next step in his coaching career.” Potters General Manager Matt Lundgren added.

The 33-year-old first-year manager has already hit the ground running assembling his staff and recruiting a talented roster. Stay tuned for a follow up announcement outlining the coaching staff, which will be comprised of some familiar faces.

100th ANNIVERSARY SEASON

The 2023 Season will mark 100 years of Potters Baseball in Lincoln. We have 1923 in our logos to represent the first year baseball was played in Lincoln under partnership with Gladding, McBean. We couldn’t be happier to keep the tradition alive and we are excited to celebrate 100 years with you this summer!
