Potters Pitching Dominates for the Win

The Lincoln Potters won a Friday night matchup with the West Coast Kings on Friday, 3-2. The Potters would get the scoring started with 2 runs in the bottom of the first with an RBI single from Charles Middleton and an RBI double from Zach Patterson later in the inning. The Potters offense wouldn't provide much more offense in the game and put the Pressure on the Potters pitching staff and they delivered. Kris Bow got it started with 4 scoreless innings where he allowed 2 base runners while striking out 6 Kings hitters over that time frame. Tanner Kane would relieve him and worked 2 scoreless innings of his own while striking out 2. Trey Furrey would drive in the final run of the night for the Potters with an RBI groundout in the sixth inning. In the 7th, after loading the bases up with one out, Manager Ryan Stevens went to Radd Thomas to try and hold the lead, and while it got close after a costly defensive mistake, Thomas held a 3-2 lead. Jack Firby follwed in the eighth and allowed no base runners to reach while getting a strikeout. Pottters unable to add to their lead went into the ninth turned to closer Cody Jensen. Jensen would put the Kings away with no trouble and earned the save for a 3-2 Potters win. Tanner Kane took the win as the Potters improve to 14-4 on the year. 

Charles Middleton, the local lincoln star, led the way for the Potters offense with 2 hits and a walk on the night. He had one of the Potters 3 RBI on the night. The only other Potters to reach base multiple times were Jorge Bojorquez and Nathan Martorella. The Kings pitching staff struckout 10 hitters while only walking 3. The Potters staff matched with 11 strikeouts only walking 4. They also only allowed 3 hits on the night which gives them back to back games of allowing 3 hits to their opponents.
