Potters Sweep Bears

The Lincoln Potters got a two-game sweep over the Yuba City Bears in last night’s win 16-1 thanks to two five-run innings. In back-to-back games the Potters’ starting pitchers pitched complete games.

Last night, it was Josh Cooper who got the win allowing only one run on six hits, walking two and striking out ten. He had the help of the Potters’ offense who had a total of 16 runs on 15 hits.

Newest Potter, Charles Middleton, made his McBean Stadium debut last night going 1-for-1 with two RBIs and a run scored. Also with two RBIs on the night was Zach Hall who went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and Isaiah Garcia who went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Contributing to the rest of the 13 RBIs on the night was Will Law (3-for-4), Jake Boyd (2-for-3), Zach Hoffman (1-for-3), Aidan Malm (1-for-3), Austen Swift (1-for-4), Chris Loeb (1-for-1) and Alex Blaszyk.

With the win last night, the Potters (26-13) move to 1.5 games back from first place in the Great West League behind the Medford Rogues. Tonight the Potters play a non-conference game against the Reno Rams at McBean Stadium at 7:05 pm.
