Potters Get Swept

(PC: Jordan Georgeson)

The Potters took on the Healdsburg Prune Packers for the final game of a four-game series. The Potters dropped the first three games of the series and looked to salvage the final game on Thursday night.

Tonko Susac (University of Arizona) was the starting pitcher for the Potters. Susac was dialed in from the very beginning of the game. He was able to quiet the Packers bats, unlike anyone else this season. He finished the night with four and two-thirds innings, allowing zero earned runs and striking out seven.

Cooper Robinson (UC Irvine) followed Susac on the mound. Robinson, making his Potters debut, got hit around early on. He surrendered three runs on seven hits. However, he was able to bounce back and record five strikeouts over three innings of work.

The Potters bats remained ice cold against the back-to-back CCL champions. They were only able to muster four base runners for the entirety of the game, coming via three walks and just one hit off the bat of Cade Sanchez (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi).

A three-run eighth inning for the Prune Packers helped put the game out of reach. The final score of the game was 5-0, earning the Prune Packers the series sweep over the Potters.

The Potters open up a four-game series over the weekend with the Solano Mudcats. Game one of the series will take place on Friday, June 16th, at McBean Stadium. It is Orange Friday, presented by Designated Hitter, with a special reserve seating giveaway. The first pitch is at 6:35, and gates open at 5:30.
