Potters Drop Series OpenerThe Potters lost on Monday night by a score of 8-5. The Potters allowed 16 Rogues hitters to reach on either a walk or hit batter. The big blow for the Rogues came in the third inning when Tyler Ahlstrom hit a 3 run homerun in the third inning to put the Rogues up 4-1. Manager Ryan Stevens said after the game, "That's the difference right there, we gave up a lot of walks but we still only lost by 3 runs. It's tough to play defense against the walk and after coming back late this morning, it was tough to see". Another key play game in the 6th inning with 2 out when Josh McIntyre was running on the pitch and Cole Elvis hit a soft ground ball in the 2nd base area that had been vacated to cover the steal, executing the hit and run. The Rogues would rattle off 3 more hits to score 2 runs in the inning to put them up 8-3 at the time. Stevens said "That's just the way the game was going, if he's not running, that's an out and we're back in the dugout. Sometimes those things break your way, sometimes they don't. Tonight they didn't." The Potters also left 14 men on base during the game. With one of the key moments in the game coming in the bottom of the 8th inning. After Brian Morley singled home 2 runs to make it 8-5, Will Law singled to put runners on first and third with only one out. Rogues pitcher Gabe Smith struck out both Austen Swift and Walker Dodero to end the inning and the rally for the Potters. The Potters would lose by that same score. The Potters fall to 15-9 and the Medofrd improve to 14-11. Travis Parker got the start for the Potters and went 3 innings allowed 2 hits 4 runs, 5 walks and struck out 2.
