Potters Battery Secures Sweep

Frederick fires strong start

The Potters starting battery lead the Potters to a sweep of the Yuba Sutter Gold Sox. Alonzo Rubalcaba was a force on both sides of the ball. He went 3-5 with 6 RBI due to a 3 run double and 3 run homerun. Behind the plate he called the strong start for Jacob Frederick. Frederick went 5 innings allowing only 3 hits, 2 walks, and 2 runs. He struck out 6 Gold Sox hitters in those 5 innings. Rubalcaba said after the game that Frederick had all of his pitchers working from bullpen. The Potters won the game 14-7. The Potters improve to 12-5 while the Gold Sox fall to 3-13. 

The entire Potters offense was a force in the game on Sunday. Tyler Detloff went 3-5 with 2 RBI out of the leadoff spot. He reached base in 4 of his 6 plate appearances. Larry Fonseca went 2-3 with an RBI as he continues to hit well in recent games. Charles Middleton went 2-4 with a homerun, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Chase Matheny followed up his debut of a pinch hit homerun with a 3-4 day with 3 runs scored. The Potters offense reached base 26 times in the game with 17 hits and 9 walks while only striking out at the plate 3 times.
