Santa Clara Sends Two to the Potters
It’s that time of day again! Today’s Select Tax & Bookkeeping Player Signing Announcement includes two players from Santa Clara University!
The Potters have added a key piece to their infield and another steady arm out of the bullpen with the signing of infielder Mark Ready and right-handed pitcher Alex Waldsmith!
Mark Ready - INF
Mark is a true freshman at Santa Clara and is the son of former major leaguer Randy Ready. He is originally from Dallas, TX where he helped lead Dallas Jesuit to back-to-back 6A Texas State Championships. The infielder will play middle infield as well as third base for the Potters this summer.
Alex Waldsmith -RHP
Alex is a sophomore at Santa Clara and is from Hillsborough, LA. He led all pitchers in appearances for the Broncos in 2017 with 28. The righty pitched for the Healdsburg Prune Packers in the California Collegiate League last summer and finished 1-0 with two saves and a 4.36 ERA.
