Potter Fall in Pitching Duel

The Lincoln Potters found themselves on the wrong side of a pitching duel Thursday night, as they fell to the visiting Healdsburg Prune Packers by a final score of 3-1. Jakob Frederick gets the loss after allowing only two earned runs off of five hits, striking out 5 in his 4.0 innings of work. Morgan White received the win for the Prune Packers. The bullpen did all they could to keep the Potters in the game as they threw zeros up on the scoreboard, not allowing a single run in their combined 5.0 innings of work. Eli Garcia was the first one out of the pen and carved up the Prune Packers, throwing two innings of hitless baseball, striking out five of the six batters he faced. Brian Martinez, Travis Parker and Blake Hearns were dominant as well, each throwing a scoreless inning and only allowing a single hit between the three of them. Isaiah Garcia (2 1B, 1 RBI) led the offense on the night, driving in the only run of the night for Lincoln, as well as being the only batter to achieve a multi-hit game for the team. After the Potters only surrendered one run thru the first three innings, Thomas Greely (1 BB) got on base via a one out walk in the bottom half of the third and was later moved over to a second on a fielder’s choice. Garcia then drove a line-drive single into right field to bring in Greely and tie the game at one. The lead was short lived though as Healdsburg capitalized on their opportunities in the top of the fourth to give themselves the two-run advantage that would carry them through the rest of the game. With the loss, Lincoln falls to 21-14-1 overall and 13-9 in the CCL North. The Potters will look to earn a split in their two-game series with the Healdsburg Prune Packers in the final game Friday, July 18, as De La Cruz Realty presents Disney Night at the ballpark! Come out and see some of your favorite Disney characters as they will be in attendance and walking around the stadium during the game! On top of that, first 500 fans into the ballpark will receive limited edition Lincoln Potter baseball cards with players from the current roster and past Potter legends! First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m., with gates opening up at 5:35 p.m.
