PORTLAND PICKLES BASEBALL ANNOUNCES SEAHAWKS PLAYER AND          

COLLiDE CO-FOUNDER AS NEW OWNERS

Join them tomorrow, Wed April 5^th, for a press conference at 1:00pm at Jupiter Hotel

PORTLAND, Ore. (April 4, 2017) —The Portland Pickles, Portland's only collegiate wood-bat team and charter member of the Great West League, are excited to announce a transition in ownership. Jon Ryan, punter for the Seattle Seahawks and Alan Miller, co-founder of COLLiDE, will join Bill Stewart as new team owners for the team’s second season. As part, Ryan, Miller and Stewart will be hosting a press conference tomorrow, April 5^th at 1:00PM in the DreamBOX Room in the Jupiter Hotel at 800 E Burnside St, Portland, Oregon. 

During tomorrow’s press conference, all three new owners will share the updated vision for this year’s Portland Pickles season, including updates to the stadium, new event nights and what this new ownership truly means for the city of Portland. We welcome all press to attend and come with questions.

“Both Jon Ryan and Alan Miller bring a unique skillset and experience to the table that will bring invaluable additions to the Portland Pickles,” said owner Bill Stewart. “I’m excited for us to work together to provide great baseball and entertainment for the Portland community.”

About the Portland Pickles: The Portland Pickles are a collegiate wood-bat baseball team founded in 2015 and based in Portland, Oregon. About Bill Stewart: A career hockey executive, Bill made the jump to baseball and was instrumental to the success of the team's inaugural season.  He has fifteen years of experience operating minor league hockey teams, most recently with the Wenatchee Wild of the British Columbia Hockey League. Bill also served as CEO of the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL, where he helped orchestrate a record of 424 consecutive sold-out home games.

About Jon Ryan: Ryan is a Canadian professional American football punter for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He helped the Seahawks win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl XLVIII over the Denver Broncos. He played college football for the University of Regina Rams, and began his professional career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL) after being selected in the Canadian College Draft. He was then signed by the Green Bay Packers of the NFL in 2006 and joined the Seahawks in 2008.
