Potters Hit 3 Home Runs in One Inning to Win Big

The Lincoln Potters continued their winning streak with their 6th straight win and a summer sweep of Better Baseball. The Potters were trailing 2-0 after the first inning and a half, but cut the lead to a single run in the 2nd. In the 3rd, the Potters offense unloaded for 7 runs on 3 home runs from Jack Filby, Ethan Mann, and Matt Voelker. Filby and Mann went back-to-back in the inning. The Potters had an 8-2 lead after the inning and wouldn’t relinquish it. Lincoln would score 6 more runs on a variety of defensive miscues, walks, and a few Potters hits. They won by a final of 14-3, their 4th win against Better Baseball this year. Lincoln improves to 17-4 on the year. Rio Britton earned the win on the game.

Potter offense had 12 hits on the night, 4 of them from UCLA man Jack Filby. Filby reached based in every plate appearance he had. Matt Voelker also picked up 2 hits for the Potters as well. Potter pitching staff allowed one earned run in the game while striking out 13. New addition to the Potters, Abraham Deleon struck out 4 in 3 innings for his Potter debut. Rio Britton also struck out 4 in 3 innings, his first appearance since the home opener. Collin Carriger struck out 3 over his two innings of work and Ethan Mann, who hit a home run earlier in the game, also struck out 2 to close out the night.
