Potters Win Game One Against Gold Sox

Zach Hall saved the game last night with a throw from right field to get the tying run out at home to help the Potters beat the Gold Sox, 12-11. The Potters accumulated 12 runs on 18 hits to overcome Marysville who had 11 runs on 11 hits.

Isaiah Garcia was respectfully named the player of the game, going 4-for-5, with four runs scored and an RBI. Austen Swift was close behind him going 3-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs. Braden De Benedictis also went 3-for-4, with a run scored and two RBIs. Eli Garcia went 1-for-4, walking once and getting two RBIs, Hall went 1-for-5, walking once, scoring two runs and getting an RBI and Will Law went 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.

On the mound Matt Steindorf got the win coming into the game in the third inning and pitching six innings of work allowing four runs, two earned, on six hits, walking one and striking out three. And Jake Gomez got another save on the season.

The Potters move to 27-13 on the season and remain only one game back from first place in the Great West League behind Medford. The Potters return to McBean Stadium tonight for Superhero night at 7:05 p.m. followed by a fireworks show!
