Back-to-Back Wins for Independence Day

The Potters returned to McBean Stadium on Monday the third and Tuesday the fourth, getting wins in both games to help them win the series against the Yuba City Bears.

On Monday, Will Law won the game for the Potters hitting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to make the score 5-4, Potters.

Contributing to the Potters’ win was Zach Hoffman who went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, Law who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored and Jake Boyd who went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

On the mound Johnathan Lavallee got the start pitching six innings while allowing four runs on four hits, walking three and striking out four. Travis Parker took home his first win of the season pitching in the final inning of play.

And on the Fourth of July, the Potters put on quite a show for the sold out crowd, getting 13 runs on 11 hits to beat the Bears 13-8.

Austen Swift, 1-for-3 with two RBIs, hit his second home run of the season to highlight the Potters’ offense of the night. Boyd went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, Isaiah Garcia went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Zach Hall went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, Cameron Castaneda went 1-for-2 with an RBI and Gilbert Sauceda went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored.

Kenneth Pettibone got another start, and win, on the mound pitching six innings while allowing five runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out three.

The Potters return to McBean Stadium on Thursday, June 6th before going on a three-day road trip. The Potters are 20-12 on the season and are 3.5 games back from first place in the Great West League, standing alone in second place.
