Walkoff Win in Extra Innings

The Potters had an exciting win last night against the Chico Heat thanks to a walkoff RBI double from Zach Hoffman in the tenth inning of play. The final score was 4-3 Potters.


On the mound for the Potters was Kenneth Pettibone who pitched five innings allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits and striking out five. Jake Gomez got the win pitching one inning while allowing only one hit and striking out two.

In the bottom of the first Isaiah Garcia hit an RBI double to score Will Law, contributing to the first run of the game. The Heat didn't even the score until the third inning.

In the fifth the Heat took their first lead of the game and in the sixth they added more insurance runs, making the score 3-1. 

But the Potters answered back in the bottom of the seventh to even the score at three a piece. Law got his second run of the night and getting the other was Jake Boyd. 

And for the first time this season, McBean Stadium saw extra innings. Hoffman hit an RBI double to score Cameron Castaneda in the tenth inning of play. The Potters now lead the series 2-1, with the final game taking place tonight at McBean Stadium.

Noticeable on the Potters’ offense of the night was I. Garcia who went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Law went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, Aidan Malm went 1-for-2 with an RBI, and Hoffman who went 3-for-6 with an RBI.
