Pottters Unable to Beat Heat

Jake Boyd by Ron Nabity

After a 1-2 road trip in Medford, the Potters returned home to McBean Stadium last night but a couple of home runs by the Potters wasn’t enough to get the win in game once against the Chico Heat. The Heat won 15-9.

Jake Boyd and Will Law both hit their first home runs of the season to help contribute to the Potters’ eight runs on 11 hits. Boyd went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Law went 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Also adding to the final score was Zach Hoffman who went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and Isaiah Garcia who went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

On the mound, Nolan Boggini got the start pitching five innings while allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out one. Marcus Garcia got the loss pitching 0.1 of an inning while allowing three earned runs and walking four.

The Potters fall to 11-7 on the season and are in third place in the Great West League. The Potters return to McBean Stadium tonight to take on the Chico Heat in game two at 7:05 p.m. before starting an eight-game road trip.
