Potters Sweep Better Baseball with Shutout Win

Potters sweep Better Baseball on the quick 2 game series with a shoutout win on Saturday. The Potters got the action going early as leadoff hitter, KeShawn Ogans got the Potters offense started with a triple. He was hit home by a sacrifice fly by Michael Shoenberger and the Potter pitching staff wouldn't need another run after that. However, the offense did end up supplying plenty of offense after that. Potters would score 10 runs in the first two innings with several runs coming via walks and hit by pitches. Zach Patterson did hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second to make it 7-0 at the time. The Potters would do all of their damage in the first 5 innings of the game, with a big 16-0 lead in the first 5 innings. The Potters offense only had 3 extra base hits in the game, as they did most of their damage by being patient and collecting timely hits throughout the game. While Lincoln's offense drew 12 walks on the game, Potters pitching only allowed 7 base runners on the game. After the 5th inning, they only allowed 2 base runners for the whole game. Lincoln won the game 16-0, and improved to 11-3 on the season. . 

Jared Gibson reached in every plate appearance he had with 1 hit and 4 walks on the night. He also drove in 2 runs as well. KeShawn Ogans and Ethan Mann led the team with 2 hits a piece. Mason Weathers led the team with 3 RBI on the night as well. The Potters offense scored an incredible 36 runs in the two games against Better Baseball. The team had 25 hits and reached base 58 times in the 2 games. Potters pitching staff was led by Jake Fredericks strong start going 4 innings and only gave up 3 hits and a walk while striking out 5. Ty Uber followed with a scoreless inning of a work and would get the win. Angel Cespedes worked a scoreless inning and struck out 3. Colin Carriger struck out 2 in his scoreless inning which was followed by a quick inning from Nate Kujawski. Radd Thomas closed the door by striking out the side on the night.
