Potters Fall in Second Game of Series

The Lincoln Potters were unable to overcome an early, first-inning deficit Saturday night, as they fell to the visiting P.U.F. Caps by a final score of 12-5. Starter Travis Parker gets tagged with the loss after striking out four batters in his 3.0 innings of work, while Peter Hansen received the win for the Capitalist. Isaiah Garcia (1 HR, 4-RBI, 3 H) made the most of his season debut for the Potters, driving in four of the five runs for the team, and crushed a two-run no doubter that sailed over the left field fence in the bottom half of the seventh inning. After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first, an RBI single from Garcia found its way into right field to bring Lincoln back within two. After another run for the Caps in the top of the second, a Jake Plecas (1 RBI, 1 BB) RBI fielder choice trimmed the lead back to within two, the closest the Potters found themselves for the rest of the game. With the loss, Lincoln falls to 12-10-1 on the season, remaining 5-6 in the CCL. The Potters will look to win the series against the Caps in the third and final game of the series Sunday night, June 30.
