Crabs Throw Two-Hitter Against Potters

The Humboldt Crabs throw a two-hitter against the Potters Sunday evening at McBean Stadium. Evan Gibbons tossed seven strikeouts picking up the win after having a no-hitter through 5.0 innings. Travis Parker took the loss after 3.2 innings, surrendering six runs (4 ER). Parker ended the night with six strikeouts. Crabs pitcher and Sacramento native, Evan Gibbons (pitches at Sacremento State) came out with some authority. He allowed just four Potters runners, through 5.0 innings, without giving up a hit. After a 70 pitch pitch limit, Dalton Smith (4.0 IP, 7 K’s, 2 H, 2 BB) came into the game, surrounding the only Potter run of the game. Lane Field broke up the no-hitter in the bottom of the sixth inning, but could not make any noise. In the Seventh inning, Anthony Mislinsky, had the second hit for the Potters, driving in Bryce Beauchamp, for the only Potter run of the night. The Potters fall to 11-8-1 overall, where their next game will be Thursday, (06/27) at the Healdsburg Prune Packers. The Potters will come back to McBean Memorial Stadium next weekend (June 28th-30th) against the PUF Caps.
